Only reason the speeds should be any different, is the Wii is really bad at running flash. That's probably artificially decreasing the Wii's score.This really reveals more of a flaw in the testing methodology, than anything.
It's the US playstation store that blows. Try leeching anything large from the Hong Kong store and it'll haul ass. I guess bandwidth is free over there or something.
Just a big tip to people who are going to try this: set your router's wireless channel to 1 or 11. The Wii, for whatever reason, works best on those channels according to Nintendo's support documents. I was having all kinds of problems downloading simple updates and SNES games onto my Wii until I switched the router to channel 1 (it was 6 by default). Downloads fly now.
