derlien.com — Disk Inventory X is a great little FOSS app that will display all the data on your hard disk visually so you can see what is taking up space. Each file is represented by a block, its size determined by the file size and its color determined by its file type. Great for finding large, unnecessary files you don't know about to save disk space!

FSV (File System Viewer) used to be one of my favorite tools and 3D eye candy. I can't get FSV to build under Fedora Core 4 or 5, or I would still use it to survey and prune old files and directories. If anyone has built this on a FC5 box, I'd love to get some instructions.I keep hoping a developer will adopt this program and update with some new features (such as delete, cut, copy, paste, chmod, chown, etc)A useful piece of software that is wasting away.

Whow the reflection effect on the rectangles is beyond hideous ...I still prefer Spacemonger which has juste the colored rectangles display, that's the only really useful part.

There's also kdirstat, which is almost exactly what this application is. It's mostly a port, as mentioned in the small print at the bottom.

Just MAC software... who cares..... 5% of computer users I guess. It is funny how MAC users is such a low percentage on the internet but such a high percentage on this news blog. Therefore this makes for a non-representative mix of user community.
