The themes apps use is hardly MS's fault or that of windows.Blame the real culprits, dumbass software developers that refuse to use standard conventions because their own ideas are 'like, so much better dude".
They still pay a lot for this, for example, universities pay millions to Microsoft every year just to get an upgrade license for office and windows. For each new computer bought, a 100$ license fee is taken to bring them into the agreement (this is negotiable but that is how it's done where I am). So in the end, this is a lot of freakin money. As for the same day patch thing, mega-corp might get this but a large state university like the one I work for doesn't seem to be big enough to get this sort of preferential treatement. It's highway robbery.
True, and I'd be happy to recommend a Mac, but not everyone wants to pay for one, so I tend to recommend Linux.I never said anything about people getting trojans through email, but it does happen.People still have to install codecs and crap to do a lot of things on Windows too.
I've never had a virus, and started out using Windows for years. But most people do get malware. If you're happy to have your antivirus lagging your system while playing games, that's up to you. Personally, I use Linux on my PC, and play most of my games on consoles.Look, I'm not trying to give advice to the know-hows. Geeks know and can learn enough to make their own damn choices. Those that actually need help may be better off with Linux. You won't find a single lie from me. Mistakes perhaps, but those are corrected easily enough if you care to point them out.

Yeah, screw those developers who need money to feed themselves and possibly family members too. Why should they get paid for work?
