Agreed, you may as well plant a sign on your back that says "hi investors! please sue me!". While you may work at Yahoo now, I doubt you will for much longer once your corporate governance people see your article.
@CBTFHotmail was popular before Microsoft bought it. It also had more features, was faster, and easier to use. See how many Hotmail users are left in 5 years after Gmail has fully taken it's place. That doesn't mean it wasn't valuable for Microsoft to buy it. Yahoo would be valuable to them, too. And then, slowly and insidiously, it would start to suck.
