youtube.com — Both corporate giants have long track records of harassing their workers when it comes to joining unions. Harassment and intimidation are illegal under Federal law, and we won't stand for it. Tell Howard Schultz, Starbucks' billionaire owner, to respect the people who work for Starbucks. http://stopstarbucks.com

I live in Australia, and I can tell you now, unions create far more problems than they resolve. A happy workplace does not need a union, that's right, but try telling the union official that and the next thing you know, you have unions holding back progress and forcing businesses to go under. In that event, everybody loses their jobs. If you want to compete in a global economy against economies such as the Asian countries, be prepared to lose some benefits — these people work for about $1 a day.

Many of your small businesses have been destroyed.

Yeah, because the unions didn't sink Detroit. I've got no problem with workers organizing---that's their right in a free country---what I have a problem with is giving those organizations particular contractual force under the law, i.e. putting the force of government behind them. You make coffee and run a f*cking cash register, for f*ck's sake. You get better than min wage. And you get great benefits. That's a hell of a lot more than a lot of people get in this country. Stop whining.Every time I hear some douchebag piece of sh*t entitlement-seeking assh**e whining about how their company discourages unions, I wonder why they don't petition for ME to have a union. Sure, my firm only has about 10 people...but hey, I deserve to have LIFETIME JOB SECURITY and FULL PENSIONS and NEARLY FREE HEALTHCARE! There are millions of people in this country who don't belong to a union, and don't even have such an option, and yet, they make their own damn way...they negotiate their own wages and benefits, they work hard, they have no union to depend on. What about them? What about me? But yeah, let's play the world's smallest violin because some douchebag who brews coffee for better than min wage and great benefits wants to make a few bucks more an hour. F*ck off, entitlement culture. F*ck the f*ck off.

Why in the f**k should you have the right to form a union? Think this through. Sure, it shouldn't be ILLEGAL to start a union, but it also shouldn't be illegal for a business to decide it doesn't want to deal with unions. If I start a business right now, are you gonna say that I have no choice but to accept a union if my employees decide to make one? If I hire a 100 people at wages they ACCEPT, and then they turn around and say "double our wage or we're all gonna quit and bring your company down," I'm gonna say f**k YOU.A union is the same thing as a cartel/monopoly, it just happens to sell labor instead of products. Seriously, think about it. It's the same exact f**king thing. You're just pro-union and anti-monopoly because you sell labor and not products.

tgc1, I completely agree with your comment and it's absolutely true. Now that we have gov't regulations the concept of a union isn't needed nearly as much. Also the fact that these asshats want $13 an hour to make a cup of coffee is laughable. No wonder they charge $5+ for a cup.

what?..so employees do not need a union?..really?healthcare? safe working environment? legal min.wage?(which is a slave wage to begin with), 8 hour day, after that time and a half?so what do you make bradley, chinezepanda, pyehole?you start untying the knot and before you know it you too will be working for peanuts and glad to have it. eventually you don't know the history of the fate of the workers prior to the union organizers..watch out there are plenty of well educated individuals coming along both from a crop of new graduates as well as other nations that are just as skilled and educated as you..ever heard of the global economy? what makes you you're so special?
