The article is bang on if it's only talking about Myspace (just looking at a user page can give you an anurism), but not Facebook, which is DESIGNED to be a communication tool with people you know in real life.

I don't use Facebook. Not only because I don't have any friends, but I don't want them to know what a failure I've become.

I got a message a few weeks ago:"I really hope you are the same guy I'm thinking of - if you are, then we went to CDC daycare together back in the day. Your mom was one of the teachers, right?"It was my best friend in daycare, who I haven't seen since I was four years old. f**k the people who say "social networking websites are for people who can't social network in real life", that was f**king awesome.

*I never did get the point with FaceBook* Even though I'm an atheist, I just loved reading this article * "distinctive sameness" :) * "those who engage in romantic communication over MySpace tend to have low levels of both emotional intelligence and self-esteem." :P I do get the point!/ Mats

I like knowing about what people I once met somewhere are up to. the other day, two people I kinda knew were organising a trip somewhere, talking about how they needed more people for the convoy. Turns out i am heading the same way with my own convoy. If i hadn't seen their convo on my news feed we would have had to take an extra car each. And with a trip of such distance, that oculd easily mean a saving of hundreds of dollars.
