newsweek.com — Proving you've been denied a job or laid off to make way for younger, cheaper workers isn't easy. The byproduct of a Supreme Court decision has increased the burden of proof to win, too. The recession just got tougher for those over 40.

If experience doesn't matter, maybe its fine to just keep cycling through workers. Otherwise, that young person meets a girl, gets married, has kids, and you're right back where you started from.

People like you are why I wish there was technology to punch somebody in the face through their computer screen.

So change all the rules to suit you? Isn't that exactly the (your) profit at all cost philosophy?

age discrimination is a part of america. For example, suppose you are 5 years old and you want to buy some beer, well they wont let you.:)

That has less to do with your age, and more to do with the economy.Large companies know that jobs like your are in high demand, so they figure that they can low-ball you and you will still take the job because there aren't may out there. If you are getting 50% less than your counterparts, which i highly doubt (i work in staffing and recruiting) it's probably due to your lack of ability to negotiate your starting pay or negotiate a pay raise.Even though you have a lot of "skills" there are plenty of people out there who can do the same job, and the employers know that too.I'm not saying it's right, i'm just saying how it is.

younger means less experience. You can't be young and have 20+ years of experience, which is why you would be getting paid more.Young people are paid little, because they don't know all that much about business.

I agree with you there, however if you can be replaced by someone without 20 years of experience who has a similar skill set, then you should price your time accordingly.

"illiterate" ... do you mean "non sequitur"?

That's the plan - still waiting to hear back from corporate about it.
