What I meant by it was, if all matter stopped then you couldn't grow old, the sun couldn't grow or burn out. The water couldn't erode the rocks. Better example, if all matter stopped then the earth would stop rotating and there would be no night or day. Needless to say, there wouldn't be any light because light couldn't move.
