Isn't frugality relative? Compared to a homeless person, most people aren't frugal at all. Just because you're more frugal than the person who wrote the article doesn't mean that he isn't more frugal than 70% of the article's intended audience.I guess what I'm saying is that it is almost always possible to be more frugal, but at some point increasing your frugality isn't worth the lowered utility of enjoying life.

Its true, I made 30-45k most of my life until the last couple years. I always had enough money before to get by every month and have fun, and honestly not much has changed. So yea, my spending increased right with the income. Its kinda bulls**t stupidity tho and I know that. I can't help that inside I am just a kid that wants toys :)

this is what i do, ymmv: turn the thermostat to 84 when i leave for the day (during summer). my entertainment system (tv, dvd, etc) are all connected to a power strip and like the thermostat, when i leave for the day i turn it off so they aren't all nibbling power through the day. and we know what happens when someone "nibbles" constantly throughout the day: obesity (a mixed metaphor. obesity in this case being overweight utility bills). when i shop i buy the store brands. my primary vehicle is a '96 isuzu. my motivation you see is an early retirement. i don't want to work till i'm five years away from the long dirt nap.
