Get out of here you f**king fanboy. You see this comic? You see the japanese outcast bragging about how much better spongebob is? That really is how normal people in the U.S. see you. You are not "deeper", you are not more "philosophical", and no one thinks you are intelligent because you pick apart these cartoons except other losers like you that don't matter.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
Read through before you bury me.I feel like Naruto is an example of something that could have been good in the hands of writers who knew how to end a story. I watched a lot of the first series (and gave up on it sometime in the filler), and many of the important pieces were there: interesting characters, historical context, a world to draw you in, and a hero that didn't always make the right choices, even though his heart was in the right place. Some of the show's themes resonated well, too: hard work versus talent, identity based on life trials, and power for the sake of power versus power to protect. What makes Naruto so bad is how it's drawn out into flashy fight scenes that explain and repeat every little detail, and how there's never any conclusion. Compare to Trigun. (Spoiler ahead.) Vash's series-ending fight against Knives is fast and brutal, using less than ten minutes of screen time. Furthermore, a great story was told by Trigun in a single season (26 episodes). When it ended, Trigun hadn't worn out its welcome.
They have been thought of as things for children, but not always. Animated shorts before movies were intended to entertain all ages (because all ages were going to be in the theater). And, since Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Simpsons, this attitude has been changing.
Unlike you HeizeusX i do not need to spend money on a girl to get sex. Unlike you who hangs around with your male friends, thinking of doing gay s**t to gay people because they are gay, or act like retards when a woman comes into the room.I watch anime as there is nothing else on TV. I have no interest in talk shows, reality shows, most sports or even a lot of tv shows. When I get home at 6pm until 2am in the morning there is hardly anything on. I don't go out on week nights so i either play video games, or watch what I have recorded or watch anime. Each anime lasts 20 minutes so i can easily watch 6 to 9 anime on a Sunday or week night. The simple fact is a lot of anime have better stories than a lot of TV shows, and I see no difference between an animation and a live action show. After all which is better the anime of Street Fighter or the live action one.Last of all just because i mentioned the anime does to mean I watch it, could have easily listed over 100 anime that has been released this year. All i said was that anime has more variety. You could easily supply a list of cartoons in America and list what they are about about, but of course that list would be small.
The author is not making fun of ALL anime viewers. The author is merely annoyed by japanese anime shows that were meant for children but have gained a strong following from foreign teenagers and adults. So, unless the anime show you watch could be construed as a children's show, you probably should not be insulted by this comic.

Sure, anime sucks. But I love it anyway. This comic isn't so much about taste as about people who take themselves too seriously.

You don't need to be high to be freaked out by Teletubbies.
