knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu — While being interviewed about the iPhone, Wharton Marketing professor Peter Fader related that the name change from "Apple Computer" to "Apple Inc." signals that Apple is waving the white flag in the PC business. They decided to make the change to "Apple" without the "Computer" at the end to make their company name represent more than just computers and their ever expanding array of products. Apple started out as a business based around computers and it will always have computers as a part of their product line.

Does Professor Fader have any actual experience in the computer business, or is he an ivory-tower navel-gazer? I'm betting on the latter.-jcr
