news.yahoo.com — One of the world's most iconic skyscrapers has long tempted Chicago visitors to squint, crane their necks and try to see the tip of the country's tallest building. But starting Thursday, Sears Tower will be gone.

I hope this works out well for Chicago. Here in New York City we outsourced the renaming of "The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center" to Islamic Terrorists. The new name is "Ground Zero" and it's been terrific for the tourism trade.

Could be worse. At least it's in English.

You ever heard Wesley Willis doing 'Benny and the Jets'? Unbelievable.

I will never call it anything but the Sears Tower. And the Hanc**k and Wrigley will likewise retain their names, corporate juggling be damned.

This is stupid. Why even bother? Everyone is going to keep calling it the Sears tower except for the people who now own the naming rights and the people who want to suck up to them.

So says Abe Froman, so says Chicago.

The Willis Tower aka The Big Willy"

I would have renamed it the Citadel.

Won't matter: It will ALWAYS be the Sears Tower! Madison Square Garden hasn't been on Madison Square since the original MSG burned down in the 1920s, but it's still Madison Square Garden. The Times has not been on Times Square in 50+ years, It's still Times Square.Cincinnati International Airport is in Kentucky, but it's still Cincinnati Airport. Canada has been metric for 30 years, and that town in British Columbia is still 100 Mile House! The Sea of Galilee is actually a lake, but it will always be the Sea of Galilee!

So far the polls on my site are almost 9:1 in favor of the Sears Tower name which coincides very closely with the Chicago Tribute polls. A lot of Willis North America employees have been voting no, of course.http://www.searstower.org/home.html
