nytimes.com— Obama opposition increasingly comes wrapped in the racial code that Gov. Robert McDonnell(R-VA) revived in endorsing Confederate History Month.

@Anomaly100 - If you think that Abe Lincoln engaged with the South in the Civil war over slavery, you better get pick up a book and find out what he did for a living before he entered government service. He was a lawyer, defending slave masters. It was primarily about State's rights. The seeds were being sewn long before Abe got into office, i.e. waring in Kansas, Cuba, etc.. If knowing the facts about history make me a "Tea Party Digger", so be it. But I'm not.@woodsjransom - I will interview the descendants of the slaves for a better view of confederate history right after I'm done interviewing the Africans on the slave coast that sold their own kind into slavery.I know these facts are "politically incorrect", but they are facts. Digg me down idiots.
Should we study the Civil War and realize that most of the soldiers fighting for either side were simply poor slobs doing the bidding of aristocrats? Sure we should, but we shouldn't revere the South's role in it. Slavery may not have been its only cause, but it was sure one of them, and to hold up the Confederacy as some sort of noble entity is an insult to both black people and to Lincoln, a man who many of us on the right revere as the greatest Republican.I am disappointed in McDonnell. This was a bad move.
Hey, don't s**t a s**tter. OK?That's what we say in the south. I know because I grew up there, lived there a long time. It's full of racists. They hate blacks, Jews, mexicans, anyone who is not white and southern. They even hate white people if they are from New York, New Jersey, etc, or speak as if they might actually have an education.I grew up there so don't bulls**t me with this, "it's all a lie," crap. I know better. I lived all over the south at one time or another, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida (especially racist), and Alabama. Never lived there but visited Mississippi many times. The south is rife with racism. I was rasied by my grandmother who had a 3 grade education to not be racist. She taught us that thinking people are less because of the color of their skin shows fear and ignorance. Two other items the south is full of by the way. Whereever we lived we were absolutely the only family which was not racist and took crap for not being racist, from other kids when we were young, as adults and still to this day when we visit.I left the south in my 40's and moved west because everyone hates everyone else who is not exactly like them. If you try to better yourself, they say you are "uppity," if you are friends with someone of another race they say you are a Jew lover, or gentlemen lover. So speaking on the authority of someone who grew up there, still knows tons of people there, has family there, has friends there - the south is full of racists and racism, period.Yes there are exceptions to every rule - I am one, but the vast, vast, vast majority of southerners are racist as the day is long. And anyone who denys it is simply telling a lie.So do yourself a favor, stop trying to put lipstick on this pig and stop being a hypocrite. If you don't like black people or Jews or Japaneese that's fine with me. It's a free country. You can like and dislike whoever you want, just don't make yourself look more ignorant than you already are by denying what everyone knows. If you don't like black, mexican people, etc, be a man and say so or just shut the hell up.If you do like black people, mexican people, etc, be a man and say so or just shut the hell up.The point being, if you are going to speak, to be a man you must tell the truth when you do speak.Ugh,The Gorilla.
He's right. Winners don't sit around and sulk. Only losers do that. Now saying that, what the f**k kind of monumental losers are Southerners to still dwell on the Confederacy and the Civil War long ( and I mean LOOOONNNG) after everyone else has moved on?They must all sit around the trailer park in their little Confederate outfits (when they're not wearing 'tea bag' colonist hats) imagining what it'd be like to have 'darkie' do their bidding again..
correction.. wealthy white males.... if you're poor in the confederacy you were seen as trash basically and weren't given a job usually because of slavery... basically poor white southerners hated blacks for that reason to and was then of course socialized to just simply hate black people for being black.... as to prevent the white working class to ally with the black slaves and um overthrow the wealthy... I don't htink people realized that the south was institutionally aristocratic.
You're a f**king idiot, and what's more I think you're full of s**t. I've lived in both the South and the North and the racism I found up North FAR exceeded what I witnessed in the South- not that either place was anything like you described- most people wherever you go in this country simply want to live and let live.
@Alheithinn: Sorry but you are clueless about the identity and religious feelings of the abolitionists. They believed in transcendentalism and were an outgrowth of the Puritans and Quakers. They were deeply religious, fanatical to the point of being intolerant of those whom they disagreed with, and are currently regarded as antisemites.
You're right. Multiple videorecordings of the black congressmen walking through the crowds were combed through and the so-called incidents could not be found. But the lie remains a success to the Liberals because now people believe it happened.

Discrimination against delicious food is almost as bad as discrimination against beautiful women.
