That article found that nobody "made" the crops Roundup-resistant. It happened through natural selection. You dumb Roundup on s**tloads of plants, a couple are going to survive. So you take those and breed them. Done.

I weed my garden by hand. Sure, it might not be the best alternative for the industrial scale, but Monsanto isn't making weeds immune to eradication.

Don't confuse Monsanto and the GM food movement. The GM food movement was designed to help poor agricultural land grow crops that produce a high yield and can grow in harsh environments where other traditional crops would fail. Monsanto's movement is about making plants that won't seed and locking farmers into buying seeds from them year after year after year.
