Revenue for the first nine months of 2007 totaled $15.2 billion, up nearly 26 percent from the $12.1 billion recorded during the first nine months of 2006, the report said.

The WGA strike may have something to do with it as well. The big ad firms know there isnt going to be anything on TV to buy advertising time on for the next few months, and convincing their clients to buy ads on the 'net is one way to keep those advertising dollars flowing in.

i came here to make the same comment. online ads are just white noise on the periphery ofthe content i'm after (be it an article, an image, video etc) and easily disregarded.there must be SOME percentage of web users who DO click on these ads forthem to hold this kind of value...or has the bubble just not yet burst?
