@ rc_collinsyou are an idiot. The apple 2 has plenty of ram for a micro TCP/IP stack. it maxes out at 64kb. contiki with tcp/ip stakc and gui requires 30kb of ram. plus, this was an apple 2e which CAME with 64kb of ram. idiot, do a little research. you cna even run a vnc server, telnet client, web server, web client and other stuff.moron.
I remember in the early days of the internet my buddy used his Amiga to get online. He had a Commodore 64 with a modem, and we always wanted to try to get that online, but never got around to it. This was like 11 years ago. It was such a big deal when the World Wide Web got going, and he spent an entire weekend getting his dads work laptop set up to brows web pages. I don't know why it took so long, but it drove him nuts. Man it's funny thinking that he actually had to explain to me what the WWW and a webpage were. I had no computer then, and didn't know much except how to start up a Commodore 64 and play Mail Order Monsters. That game was awesome.
Getting a DOS machine online is really, really easy anymore. Microsoft has actually released several add-ons to DOS that make it do some reasonably cool stuff. Google: Windows

eliomar,You can do the same thing on an old DOS box. That's what Arachne is, a web browser for DOS, with lots of addons like for media players and stuff.http://home.arachne.cz/
