@ kumariYou do know that negotiations was in place and Japan was on edge of surrending. Yes nukes were like catalyst for this process but one of them would be plenty to show power and break military resistance. Also Hitler killed millions of jews but no one used nukes on him. Japan cruelty in Asia don't justify usage of nuclear weapons

We're far from powerless in the matter.@caseyOh, and isolationism worked oh so well in the past. Let's make sure that we only have low quality/high cost American goods for now on, and we can put extraordinary taxes on all imported items. That will surely make our standard of living much higher. *sigh*Korea may only want to take the south for now, and I don't think they're coming after us if we did leave, but they might go after Japan. Like it or not, we are very much a part of the world market and economy, and we can't let one dictator destabalize a region.

@Osmanthusohhh.... any chance you are talking about difference between fusion and fission? Do you know what's the difference between those? And... just FYI, you can make much bigger nuclear devices then eith NK or Hiroshima.i am not going to fill the holes in your education here, but ... please... at least try to make some sense. Do you even know what's the difference between what you call nuclear and thermonuclear?HINT :: "H"can you get the hint? ;)as for Hiroshima bomb - it managed to destroy whole city.... not big enough for you.. are compenasating for something?

Actually, Israel's nuclear technology is most likely of French origins. But hey, don't let that stop you from hating.

Miniaturization not necessarily required. Watch out for the nuclear "suicide submarine" in either LA, San Francisco, Seattle or at the oil tanker filling port in Alaska. N. Korea and Iran are tag-teaming the US with this issue. Shooting down ICBM using interceptors off of Aegis class warships off the coast of N. Korea will not work. God help the 125,000 American heroes on the ground in Iraq.

Such is the arrogance of our post-information age humanity that in the God-playing of the semi-homo sapiens in charge of this world, that they would see the mistake of the Almighty and seek to correct it. Man is destined to destroy God's creation. God's error was to create too many defectives--too many poor, too many needy, too many hungry, too many weak, too many minorities, too many aliens born to be outside of the system, and the power's that be will seek to fix this error and start over with the "strong" who will be left. Malthusian principle as self-fullfilling prophecy, social Darwinism at it lowest and most despicable. This is both our destiny and will be our legacy, after the new Man arrives in partnership with all of the lower life forms that will remain when all is accomplished. I will be convinced of the justice and righteousness of the wars of terror, the clash of civilizations, the modern-day crusades on the sides of the right and of the wrong, the so-called Judae-Christian the the so-called Moslem, when I see the end to the scapegoating and diminution of whole peoples and cultures, when I see the end to the monetization, profit-taking and greed there is which is at the foundation of the wars we fight against ourselves. And they looked and saw that they were naked, and the Almighty said, "who told you you were naked?" The Angel of the Lord has barred the way back into the Garden--there is no longer any spiritual or philosophical Eden for mankind. We cannot go back home again as a species.

Actually, I was basing those calculations on that other guy's numbers. I have absolutely no idea how accurate it is, but I will say this. We CANNOT blow up the world. It is impossible.
