cnn.com — Never mind what you've heard about global warming as a slow-motion emergency that would take decades to play out. From heat waves to storms to floods to fires to massive glacial melts, the global climate seems to be crashing around us. Another bit a proof that governments are too slow and that Bush should have signed the Kyoto Treaty.

also, i don't believe this whole "global warming is our fault" cry, at all. i don't think there's anything we could've done in the last 6.5 million years, let alone one hundred years (including the industrial revolution and increased dependency on fossil fuels), that could've caused global warming. it's just a natural process. so, deal with it.

Why don't we all really help and wear green ribbons? Good Lord. The environmentalists have a lot of phony-balony jobs riding on fear, and many people are falling for it. These people are nuttier than the religious wackos that go to the top of a hill and prepare for the second coming (that never seems to come).

Global warming creates extreme temperatures that tend to lean towards the warm end of things. So while it may be colder than normal where you live at the moment, just you wait until the middle of summer when you're saying, "Ugh, when will this heat/drought end?!?".At the end of the year you'll average a temperature slightly higher than the norm--it may only be .1 degrees, but it will be warmer *overall*.Not only that, but your area may be cooling overall as a result of global warming. You may freeze to death while Africa burns up. That is why it is GLOBAL warming :)-Riskable<a class="user" href="http://www.riskable.com">http://www.riskable.com</a>"I have a license to kill -9"

As usual - the arrogant, don't-give-a-damn about anyone but Americans in the current generation, conservative, do-nothing, Republicans like the moron who posted the comment above can't think critically or scientifically enough to realize that if the climate worsens, it will affect us in ways much worse than short-term economic problems. I can't wait for these people to suffer horrible cancers, respiratory problems, increasing famine & crime, more terrorism, etc. - AND anyone with any minimal higher education will tell you this is already happening on a small scale. Do you think with the growing population, declining natural resources for food and shelter, declining land masses from rising sea levels, and increased disease from extreme weather this won't happen?? Where the hell will your fossil fuels get you then? Jobs? To do what - as undertaker? Dumb ass.

Is it me or is Milo_Hoffman a tool for King Bush-ey? Or is he just plain dumb and ignorant?

to Stevethegreat's response: Did you forget about the Tsunami of 2004? Hurricane Katrina? The Afghan earthquake? These are just a few instances of earthquakes laying waste to human lives in just the last 1.5 years!

Yes, I find it quite amusing that none of the eco-geniuses seem to understand that Hydrogen will be produced from petro-chemical sources. (oil refineries) BP, Shell, Sonoco will still be drilling and still using hydrocarbons, so will we. I wonder what the byproduct of separating hydrogen from hydro-carbons is? (mfg. wise)

I'm sorry, I tried.... it's too late. Oh, did you say Jesus or TwinklyJesus? My bad...

Yeah, so until we have studied EVERYTHING we should just ignore the things we already understand. Like the fact that CO2 causes warming. Instead of everyone doing a little in the meantime, lets just ignore it and go on business as usual.Ignore it and it will go away. Dumbass.
