Soooo not Bansky. So Wanna be Bansky.Has bansky every done a think of the children guilt trip? Bansky is sharper and shrewder and exposes injustice, the authorities directly. This guy should try that.
sure economic actions have effects on others, but those effects are indirect. I am against the bailouts and if someone loses their job at some company because global demand changes well tough s**t, you can't tell me what kind of contracts i can enter into or what risk of my money i am allowed to take or how much i am allowed to make. Also what is the alternative.... GOVT? look at what a wonderful job they have done, they effed up with the AIG bonuses (intentionally i might add), generational debt, devaluation of the currency through massive printing of money, bailout out bad risk taken by home owners and businesses, want to talk about cloud cukoo? Putting the likes of Dodd, Frank, and Obama in charge of this s**t.
Sigh....let me explain. The inference from the graffiti is that we put a higher value on the financial investments we make other than the investment in our children. DavidTurnbull commented that children are unprofitable. So I listed off ways children can be invested in to turn a profit. I.e. sports, music. etc....or in general a decent education. There you go. ;)
Of course we do! We are so egoistic that we really do not care even about our children. Today's profit is what only matters to Us! We really do not care but about ourselves and our miserable petty lives and midget idol, particularly that one whom we worship every morning. As long as he's satisfied we do not care.
Ever thought of the possibility that this graffitti is older than the recent financial crisis?Hedge funds have long been criticized by ngos and activist groups for engaging in activities that are highly profitable for a few (the investors) but unprofitable or even destructive for society as a whole and especially in the in the long run (for our children). E.g. buying up a company, getting rid of the workers, splitting it up and selling the pieces for profit. Or providing funds for papermills in Indonesia that clearcut the rainforests, destroying the planet and the future of our children.
this is written some time after your comment to me above, but i just read it.The alternative is government, you just have a narrow minded view of what the entails as a possibility.Do some research into quality of life in scandanavian countries like norway and sweeden.these countries have high taxes and lots of government provided and controlled aspects of society. And yet they have some of the highest happiness ratings for their people and lowest levels of rich/poor divides in the world....The solution is BETTER government.talking about how much government, be it more or less is a total red herring.

I second your opinion austroLogi.

That depends on if you make your money in government loudly shouting 'what about the children?'If you do that, children become immensely profitable.
