Am I'm the only one who is astonished by the sheer amount of CGI that was used in that scene? I always thought that they used very advanced robotic masks maybe combined with some slight CGI in the film, but here even their clothes are generated! It's really impressive how far we have come in terms of special effects nowadays.
You don't truly understand just how much work goes into these movies until you try it yourself. After going to school for this stuff I have nothing but the utmost respect for the visual effects that these people are able to create.
Me, 3 girlfriends, and 2 guy friends sat down and watched this drunk in one of the guys living rooms. It was f**king hilarious. There were way too many awesome dirty quotes at the right time. The sex is porno style... all we could do was laugh at it.One of the girls admitted to getting off on it late... =P
Short makeup time for a long CGI developing time. Would be interesting to know which one took less time to do.The make-up probably takes forever and has to be done every single time that character is on screen, but it also looks good up close and you don't have to draw it in a computer which probably takes considerable time. Makeup always looks correct in light obviously because its real while CGI might get the lighting wrong if the developer doesnt catch it, shadows, reflections, etc.On the other hand CGI can add aspects that you may not be able to do with simple makeup (at least not convincingly, like shark teeth/hammerhead/moving tentacle hair), you can make a model and apply it to that character wherever he is in every scene to save a lot of time. The biggest downside is that if you don't spend enough time/money it can look very fake and cartoony. The CGI in PotC (which honestly I didnt even know was CGI on the characters) was pretty incredible thanks to disney's insane budget.

The ones who pull it off the best, are the ones who pull it off without you noticing.Speaking as a visual effects artist, in my opinion the single greatest visual effect in history is Benjamin Button, who is fully CG from the neck up for the first hour of the movie - and nobody noticed:http://digg.com/movies/TED_How_Benjamin_Button_Got ...
