Lol I love how paranoids hear anything about genetics and scream "cancer". This guy is making a microscopic organism that will no doubt be sitting in a petri dish. It is way too small to get cancer (it would take up the whole organism) and won't be exposed to people. Plus it wouldn't have evolutionarily developed a means to attack humans.
Yea I knew of some people who worked in his group and all of them greatly disliked it. Which was why when he and his ex wife went their separate ways didn't she draw a large portion of the group I believe.
