guardian.co.uk— Scientists have underestimated the role that water vapour plays in determining global temperature changes, according to a new study that could fuel further attacks on the science of climate change

@IKORKY - then we need to close down the beer companies, the tobacco companies, the oil companies, etc., etc.You are all jumping to the conclusion that the science is following the business, I tend to think (or would like to think) that the businesses are following the science. You cannot tell me that you think that green energy is a bad thing and that reducing the tons of crap that are spewn into the atmosphere is a bad thing. This argument is making people think that carbon dioxide is either killing and heating the planet, or that it has no effect. Fact is that regardless of climate change, carbon dioxide is causing the acidification of the oceans - killing the phytoplankton that produce about 50% of the oxygen we breath.
No one here said they were lying. I just said I wanted an open debate and I don't want people who have valid questions to have words put in their mouth like you are doing now. I was just pointing out that scientists are not above lying. As a matter of fact I don't think the scientists who might be incorrect one way or another are lying. Scientists misinterpret data all the time. Scientists look at their one field and think it applies to the whole world. Rather than understanding how the atmosphere, the sun, the ocean, the effects people have and what is natural and what isn't is sooo complex I don't see how anyone but the very top scientists could understand it themselves. It takes a lot of discussion from a lot of different fields to understand this. Errors and revision will be made as long as people are open minded and willing to see their errors. To say we totally understand what is going on is preposterous when you think about it.

Why bring my family into these s**tty internet debates? But look, why is it scientists are only lying about this, but not other scientific ideas?

The Goracle who is the gateway between common folk and the almighty scientists said it was settled so it must be.

Roger Pielke Sr. comments:"since the IPCC multi-decadal global climate models have not predicted this behavior, this is yet another reason to question the skill of their forecasts of climate for the coming decades."<a class="user" href="http://pielkeclimatesci.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/comments-on-contributions-of-stratospheric-water-vapor-to-decadal-changes-in-the-rate-of-global-warming-by-solomon-et-al-2010/" rel="nofollow">http://pielkeclimatesci.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/c ...</a>
