cnbc.com — The new episode of CNBC's Business Nation tomorrow features Tom Garnier of SSI Shredders, a shredding company that takes on more than just paper. How much more? How about a car and a refrigerator. Guess that answers the question of "Will it blend?"

To reduce the amount of space our trash takes up is one purpose. It's a lot better than having a junk yard full of 20 year old broken cars taking up space, leaking pollution into the ground, and being a general hazard. Additionally, there are cases where things need to be shredded for security purposes, such as decommissioned computers, servers, and storage media.Essentially, the same reason you have a paper shredder in your office, except that there are things in the world that need to be disposed of the same way that are a lot bigger and/or stronger.I can't wait to hear the reason this comment will be buried for.
