I try to minimize the amount of tax I pay. Why would I expect MS to be any different? In fact, you'd consider those at MS a real bunch of dicks if they started looking for ways to pay more tax.
Microsoft practices one of the most ingenious business techniques to make their stocks look better that I've ever seen. Instead of borrowing money from the bank when they need it (even though they have 10s of billions of dollars sitting in the bank), they have a 'second' company right next door that takes all the debt and borrows the money from the bank. Microsoft then goes to that company and borrows from them rather than the bankI had a friend of mine who works at microsoft explain it to me, and even though it was a while ago and I can't remember exactly what it is they did, I do remember it was an incredibly smart way to make your earnings higher and stocks look better
