thehoopdoctors.com — If you are trying to identify the greatest dunk contest performance by a player, you may first consider the year little Spud Webb won at only 5′7″ tall. But in doing so, you’d have overlooked certainly the greatest individual dunk performance in the contest history. Vince Carter in 2000 was on another planet.

The overall contest itself was the best ever in my opinion, at least based on what I've seen of the old ones. I remember the anticipation for the contest that year and how insane the competition was. You had Carter doing his thing, but at the same time there was Tmac and Steve Francis (in his prime). It was absolutely amazing to watch. I haven't enjoyed a dunk contest since.

I f'ing hate Vince, but he's produced the best dunks at almost every single level of dunk contest -- his ball-in-hand, cartwheel dunk at the High School dunk contest was ridiculous.

It was the last dunk contest worth remembering...

They need to end the damn dunk contest. There are only so many ways you can put a basketball into a basket. No superman jersey, cupcake, trampoline or seated Kenyon Martin will make any damn difference. The only thing All Star Weekend is good for anymore is the 3-point shootout and seeing what retarded outfit Damon Jones will show up in.Although, the Basketball Jones street dunk contest was made in heaven.
