Warren Buffet pledges 99% of his wealth to charity

money.cnn.com — In 2006, I made a commitment to gradually give all of my Berkshire Hathaway stock to philanthropic foundations. I couldn't be happier with that decision. Now, Bill and Melinda Gates and I are asking hundreds of rich Americans to pledge at least 50% of their wealth to charity. So I think it is fitting that I reiterate my intentions. There is the accumulation of wealth, and then there's outright ridiculousness. Once you get rich to a certain degree, beyond that it's just gratuitous.

Also, I want everyone to look into the "charities" to which he donates. Just do it. They're not great organizations that don't waste peoples' money not helping people. They're not organizations that actually perform serious, positive works. What are they?* Braces to be buried for stating the truth *Eugenics organizations. Warren Buffett is evil.

I never said JDR wasn't underhanded. All I said was that he's more "philanthropic" then Buffet. All I claimed is that he donated a lot of money to charity. Buffet will donate how much 50 billion to charity? That's great and I really respect the man along with bill gates. However: The billion or so dollars JDR donated to charity is in today's money worth about 300 billion dollars that has gone to help many many causes. Was JDR a good man- eh not so much, but is he still a philanthropist? You'd be idiotic to say no. Bill Gates recently donated 10 billion to charity. I don't see many people going around calling him underhanded even though he owns a monopoly and has been accused of many underhanded practices. Look it up. I think people should read before being so judgmental.
