So because I have gambled, I shouldn't be allowed to have healthcare, welfare, or any other sort of help should I fall on hard times? I've lost less money than I spend a month on cable and internet service. I've lost less than than I've spent on three video games. Less than I spend on groceries in a month. I should be punished for that? I've lost less than I make in two night's work. I've obviously ruined my life and should be punished for it.

Seems to me it would be easy to run a second program that made your poker decisions for you. You might want to override it if you know a particular player enjoys bluffing or something but at the very least, you could have one sitting there giving you odds. One of the reasons I never try online poker (for money) is because I don't trust myself to not get emotional with real money and because I've always assumed that a lot of people are using some sort of playing aid if they don't have the skill.

That may be true but do you have any proof? Education gets cut all the time in places that don't have gambling so cuts are a problem anyway. Have you seen a source that shows gambling communities have an additional cut equal to money from gambling? Once again, you may be correct, but it sounds more like you are just being cynical.

Right. So P(winning jackpot|1ticket) = 1/13983816= 7.15x10^-8 P(winning jackpot|2tickets)= 2/13983816= 1.43x10^-7The probability of getting the jackpot has doubled. Just because the double of a small number is also a small number doesnt mean the odds haven't doubled.
