younewb.com — The world's largest retailer, Wal-mart, just posted that they're selling PS3 for $299. It obviously has to be a mess up on their part, but it's pretty funny to see a huge corporation screw up something that big. I think every one would become a Sony fan if that were true.

@hellman: here in the US, the general legal rule is that ads are invitations for offers, not offers themselves (so the advertiser becomes the offeree and the buyer is the offeror). there are some exceptions, but a product like the ps3 sold in many different packages in an ad with this few details would never be seen as an ad.

Actually, callusemul8tor is quite right. Also, if we continue to buy products from Sony and allow them to win this generation, then it will usher in a new period where developers can mistreat their customers, act like asses, and get away with it.It's actually in everyone's best interest to see that EA and Sony start going downhill. They have recently shown absolutely no respect for gamers worldwide, and they will continue to sell us crap as long as we pay for it. Saves them the trouble of making good product.

bad?? why is it a bad system? I will give you expensive, but only in comparison to the Wii. the 500$ PS3 has everything the premium Xbox does, and it comes with free online play, as well as a Blu Ray player. I am definitely willing to pony up an extra 100 dollars up front, especially since i will make it up in 2 years by not having to pay online fees (as i would have to for Xbox Live) and as an added bonus, will also get a next gen DVD player(Blu Ray).

i wish it would be only be 299.99 but i hear form other websites and friends they saw up two 900 $ 4 one of the ps3 i dont think so i think its only ganna be like 400 to 500$

That is true!!! i was just at walmart today picking out the metal gear solid 4 ps3, which was $500, and i seen the regular ps3 for $299!!! NO JOKE.... i went to the walmart in vancouver, washington.
