The sad thing is Walmart talks about how they can bring customers lower prices because they have the infrastructure set up to make things cheaper. And now when some one sets up and even cheaper digitial infrasturcture they start making threats. If we're all lucky the movie studios will realize what a dinosaur Walmart is and that digital media distribution is the wave of the future, and that they should be jumping on that wagon now.
I'm still trying to figured out walmart, they do away with lay-away's because there competition don't have layaways, Kmart has lay-away's, that was one of the greatest things in the world during christmas.Than they start to sell, 4 dollar perscription drugs, at some stores and nation wide by next year, who is that hurting the small chain, like walgreens and suchNow there complaining that there getting hurt by a download store, how they figure, most people buy dvd's for the extra features, there a few movies I like to have on Itunes, but not many, walmart is just becoming a giant baby/bully to some degree
We have a corporation that uses bully tactics to drive down prices and has established a monopoly. Last time I checked we don't live in North Korea. I have bought things from wal-mart out of "necessity" before, but seeing how they react to a little capitalism, I am not going back.
They already control what you can do with your movies. you seem to forget, for example, that it is illegal to rip DVD's (Its an easy thing to 4get, esp since ripping music CD's is legal.) So actually, if, and when apple's iTv materilaizes, buying online allows you to do more with your movies than buying a DVD.
i live in an area without walmart and my market is therefore not being penetrated, according to dclowd9901by the way, this area is new york city(stfu paid representative)
Yeah, I have a family too. I like to shop at Walmart because of the sweet convience of it all. I go to get food and I also can get a gross of diapers for nothing. Also, I have found that there are cheap copies of National Treasure, bike tubes and custom cakes. I can't live without it...............Plus...it's fun to shove my ass out the window at the small local businesses in the city that once had my businesss and now need to eat s**t........with their families. Huh Ha!
I never said monopolies were illegal, merely that it's wrong for Wal Mart to get away with bending over the movie companies to do their bidding so they come out on top. That in and of itself is a monopoly and that leads to anti-trust filings from other companies.

I have 2 kids, so Walmart is awesome for my family. Great prices and one stop shopping. Plus open 24 hours and 5 within a 2 mile distance.
