huffingtonpost.com — Green Day told WalMart to go pound sand since they won't alter their new album to suit WalMart's "family" image. And people wonder why record companies let themselves get bamboozled by WalMart out of business.

It is when Green Day makes a press release about it and talks about it on talk shows as if refusing to censor your record is some new groovy idea.

Green Day is hardly "the little guy". "Wally World", as you like to call it, isn't trying to get publicity by not selling albums with swear words on it. Green Day IS trying to get publicity by WHINING that it doesn't like how Walmart operates. Green Day is a f**king media whore..Free speech is a f**king joke.

Good for Green Day, I was honestly losing respect for them but this made me gain some back. I like how Wall-Mart sells guns but now cds with bad words in them. Its like "Here sun, have a gun for your birthday. You can shoot at whatever/whoever you want as long as you dont say any bad words"

@captcarrot and Lex0nyc- when the corporations and the gov't are aligned against the will of the people, that is fascism, and in a sense, that is what we have, so you are both rightand what else would Walmart exist for?

Certain areas they will sell ammo, I saw some 12ga and .22 & 30-06 stuff this morning in Illinois, but no firearms. But so what about guns and ammo? Not all of us gun people are rednecks or psychos. It's just music, the world isn't going to end. All this publicity is to sell more albums/downloads somewhere else...or to remind everyone GreenDay still exists (barely).

They also had to change the title of the song "Rape Me" to "Waif Me" in order to distribute it there.http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2430

I work at walmart and I have seen the problem with them just not selling the music upright if it is parental advisory but this subject is gonna be a thing of the past i dont see cds lasting that much longer.

Walmart can take a flying leap, because they CENSOR their MUSIC. For uncensored music, and even a free download of the songs 'the Office' and (coming soon) 'Officer Please Go Home' go check out my music! www.myspace.com/soydiosa
