wymeditor.org— With no disrespect for the authors of other WYSIWYG editors out there, but this one really gets it RIGHT. I think I'm gonna put this one to heavy use, hope it gets to stable really soon.

LOL, barbwire, IgogI contacted me after his submission - I didn't know him before!I'm the lead developer of WYMeditor and I thank him for his kind submission, but I must admit that WYMeditor his *very* different from FCK or TinyMCE, so you can't really compare them. Please understand it's another way of web-based editing, not WYSIWYG but WYSIWYM - it's mostly a concept (and it works) - that's why he made his submission.
Hello, you may find that other editors have more features, but most of these features are not needed at all in WYMeditor, given its particular approach.WYMeditor uses classes to allow for customization. The demo shows some example classes, but in fact you can add as many classes as you want. So the web designer adds classes, and uses CSS, Javascript or XSL (if your CMS supports it) to customize them as he wants on the public website. You can also use the "sructured contents" feature of WYM editor to make possible the insertion various pre-made HTML contents.Maintainig the site is very simple for the final user. He simply insetrs its contents, defines the basic structure (titles, paragraphs, lists,...), and eventually adds classes to elements of his choice - classes which have been made available by the web designer, taking into account the specific needs of the website. So, if you understand me, you see that you can do a LOT of things with classes, without compromising visual coherence across the site, nor code quality. To my opinion, editing contents have never been as fast, safe and simple for the end user. It's true that some features are lacking like for example: nested lists, more accessibility features for tables,...But: 1) Please understand that this project is young, and we will add features progressively.2) The source code is open and free, so anyone can contribute.3) With the power of CSS, Javascript and XSL, you can do a LOT automated manipulation of the contents inserted by the end-user.
Yes, I won't let my clients touch most editors. This tool is exactly what is required to give control to the user without giving them the chance to completely screw up the style guide of a site.

Great web-based tool! If you know what you're doing, you know that using XHTML and semantic markup is the way to go.
