examiner.com — Sheep fire, a term coined by media covering this event, lacks adequate explanation. However, it conjures humorous mental imagery, so we give it a A- for creativity. Now will someone please explain why the fire is applied to sheep? Is that the suspected cause, "Ovis aries arson"? You heard it here first!

The name of this rapidly growing, extremely dangerous fire was named Sheep, because it started near Sheep Canyon. I wouldn't exactly say that the media names these fires, it's the firemen battling the fires. They do so because they're fighting so many, that they need names to decipher which fire is which. I'm sure if you had done a little research, http://www.rimoftheworld.net/4204 you would have been able to find the answer yourself, instead of making light of a fire that may ruin many peoples lives. I don't feel that the firemen fighting this fire are conjuring humorous mental imagery.
