mtv.com — Did anyone else notice on the recent MTV VMAs, the Foo Fighters performed a song with a noose attached to the microphone ( See: http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1568781&vid=174597 .) This is an insult to black people.

LOL..give up the race card, dude. You are REALLY stretching it. Blacks aren't the only people who have been lynched.

"race card" is such a cliche.About the noose gag. First, I think it is a pathetic attempt by non-ethnic people to express rebellion. I can see how in their isolated world, they want to refuse to be told what they can and cannot do. Of course, I don’t agree hate speech or expression should be included in first amendment rights. What is really confusing/twisted is Foo Fighters has an alternate lead singer who is black. ( See: http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1568781&vid=174603 .) This black singer has a very buffoonish appearance (reminiscent of a slave). So, I’m insulted by anyone representing black people that way.So, back to the noose, we shouldn’t accept it or rationalize it, because it is more negatively symbolic than the swastika.p.s. I am not a Foo Fighters fan, particularly after seeing these performances.
