online.wsj.com — President Barack Obama has turned fearmongering into an art form. He has repeatedly raised the specter of another Great Depression. First, he did so to win votes in the November election. He has done so again recently to sway congressional votes for his stimulus package.

TASINE,No, youre not the only one. Few things at that level happen by chance. This is a coordinated effort. Obama is just playing his role. Right now his role is to be Fearmonger in Cheif so that these bills, that basically amount to theft, get passed and so that the super rich get to remain super rich at the expense of the rest of us.

Obama's fear mongering theatrics and the desired affect are only things that are "transparent" in his administration. Wait for the inflationary rebound once we start paying for this "stimulus" as the economy recovers.

So this is where the poor butthurt Freepers hang out, eh? It can't be good to be a Freeper these days - first Obama kicks your neocon asses in a national election, then Jim Robinson couldn't get more than 5 people (including one of his sons) to show up and march on some Senator's offices.Yes! Yes! Oh let me taste your tears, Freepers! Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness! Mmm-yummy! Mmm-yummy

It's funny that Republicans are accusing Obama of fearmongering about the economy after G.W. fearmongered his way over the Constitution after 9/11. While it may be true that during the Great Depression the auto industry fell off by 90% and we only have a current fall off of 25%, everything that Obama is doing is to PREVENT a new Great Depression. After all, the auto industry now is a much bigger part of the American economy than it was 80 years ago. That makes that 25% have more of an impact these days. I also don't understand how Republicans can now warn about putting the future generations into debt with this stimulus bill when the GOP already did it with all the appropriations bills that they passed that gave trillions to the likes of Halliburton for Iraq and Afghanistan. This is why nobody trusts the GOP anymore. They're all big businessmen and they pass laws that benefit only their particular businesses. Nowadays, big businessmen don't even need politicians in their pocket anymore - the big businessmen ARE the politicians. Anything to save a buck, right? And that's why small businessmen get screwed over by both parties, although small business members of both parties have a hard time seeing that.
