Murdoch - sounds like a good guy, doesn't he? Just saying the name makes me taste my own vomit - I don't think these reporters go far enough. I hear if you fill a bottle with gasoline and stuff a rag in top and light the rag and throw the whole kit you get a nice bloom..
If everyone is loosing pay and benefits, then everyone should just STFU, and BOHICA, right? Nonsense. Someone finally had the balls to stand up and say they deserve better than they are getting, and we should support them 100%.
If you see the state of australian papers, you'll keep murdoch the hell away from the wall street journal. Here's one example (paraphrased)"Popular bands, Powderfinger and Silverchair recently announced their national tour. This will be welcomed by fans as it comes only two weeks after The Post's (newspaper name) "Timeout Concert" which features such acts as (insert acts names here)"This isn't in the entertainment section either.. this is page 3. (incase you missed it, the article informing people about the news is hijacked to promote their own Murdoch Concert which is to occur two weeks earlier)This s**t is rife. There used to be a section in the paper called "real estate section"then it got called "the Realtor"and now it's called "realestate.com.au" (which is a murdoch owned company)I know people who have real estate websites who are consistently refused advertising space in *any* murdoch paper, and I know real estate agents who are unable to secure listings in the murdoch system..This is without a doubt one of the most disgusting monopolistic crimes, and it's a disgrace to journalistic integrity. Murdoch is playing a key role in the f**ked up state of the world right now.
Why does anyone think Murdoch would change the way the paper works? He's a businessman. Fox News is what it is because there was a huge demand for that sort of right-slanted news (along with the second-by-second coverage of whatever school shooting or police chase that might be occuring at any time), consequently, Fox has been a huge financial success. As for the WSJ, it is a well-established paper with a great readership. My biggest fear wouldn't be as to the politics of the paper (as the paper really doesn't seem to be slanted one way or the other unless you count the chamber of commerce as a political party), my fear is that the party will start to look more and more like USA Today.

This coupled with the CNN reporter who refused to talk about Paris being a douchebag... the press is gaining back some credibility. (only some)
