linux.wordpress.com — Half Life 2 and Counter Strike are two of the most popular First Person Shooters available. These games are available for Windows PCs in first place. A growing number of people uses Linux as their major operating system and does not want to renounce their favored games. This HOWTO should make it possibly for anybody to get Steam working with Wine.

Windows -- It just works. I'll stick to dual booting Linux and Windows. When Linux can run all apps and games made for Windows, I'll make the complete switch. Hopefully it will happen one day.

Bias:>WTF kind of response is that?An intelligent non-angry one. >I never needed to update my WinXP as well,??? Really? Because our machines get updates at least once every month, often much more -- sometimes as many as once as week. Often forcing reboots (which on servers -- or even the home user who's doing something important, is very bad.)> and I don't need any Antivirus softwares at all for 5 years, You're crazy. I have two viruses on one Windows box right now. If you don't run the software, then you simply don't find out about infections.>so by your standard WinXP is much better than Linux now right? It's your choice that you don't update, but they release them for a f**king reason, to fix things. Usually individual application fixes that I don't need or use. A critical security update is unusual, and even then doesn't even require a reboot.>And you f**king skip over the EASY TO USE AND INSTALL PART!?Actually I didn't. Above I pointed out that Linux is oten faster to install than Windows. As for easy to use, shall we try and install a game under Vista and watch it break together? I can walk you through this if you like. The same game runs fine under Linux, and it's a Windows game.

@bias:He chooses not to run updates because he doesn't need to, if he doesn't install them: nothing happens. On the other hand if you don't run all the critical windows security updates...Oh and YES Linux is faster and easier to install, Ubuntu (for example), has a few steps (nearly all of which my grandmother could handle) and then takes half an hour to install on my computer.Windows XP, however has an inconsistent text based installer that takes more than an hour to install, and requires me to return every so often to enter some more information. (Why can't it just collect it at the start?)

No, you probably won't get far with that on a PowerPC processor. Likely no further than you would get trying to install Windows with that processor.
