pistonheads.com — Mercedes-Benz is working on several different systems to warn drivers of the early stages of micro-sleep. It is developing systems that monitor the driver's eyes to detect altered blinking patterns. When it does, there will be an audible warning to the driver. There is also a system that monitors driving habits and enters values into an algorithm.

I'd like a system where when it detects I'm no longer holding the steering wheel, an alarm with Samuel L. Jackson's voice comes on sayin WAKE UP MOTHAf**kA!I'd actually appreciate an occassional car alarm as well if he was like THIS MOTHAf**kA CAR IS AUTOMATED, DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT AUTOMATED MEANS?! IT'S AUTOMATED, BITCH! TOUCH THIS CAR AGAIN, I DARE YOU! I DOUBLE DARE YOU!

So it's comment-spam then, no difference. Just because someone blogged an article doesn't mean it's worth mentioning with the article. It may be blogged 100 times and then dugg 5, should we put the dupe digg links in there too?

They need a "micro-assh**e" detection system for moments the Mercedes owner thinks they own the road because they drive a Mercedes.

yeah, mercedes is lagging in technology once again. They have 13 models out right now, how could they possibly be working on quality with so much quantity?

Lame. Other automakers have already begun to develop similar technologies.Mercedes Benz is way over hyped.

Hmm, aside from the super expensive models, the reason why most Benz drivers are probably falling asleep is because of the boring uninspired car they are driving. Honestly, since Chrysler took over Benz, the cars are becoming more boring every model year. I am getting them mixed up with Toyotas, Hondas and Volkwagens.

Great article and fun to read. I wonder if its completely safe, spillage occurs frequently and with all those wires around, can prove dangerous. Additionally, they need to find a better design because who wants to have all those wires running through their beard, or along their face, possibly restricting movement and reaction time.
