huffingtonpost.com — Early voting has reached record numbers this year. Including absentee ballots, 27 million people have already voted. That's in spite of lines that stretch on for hours. "Six hours is ridiculous in terms of waiting in line," one Ohio voter told CNN. "I still haven't had an opportunity to vote," said a Florida reader after waiting in line for three

You know I voted early! I did not want to wait until like four years ago, when I almost lost my chance to vote. I was lucky to be one of the last few people allowed in to vote. I had to work till six, and the polls here closed at seven! I just made it under the wire, after an almost hour commute, by our wonderful public transportation here in Tampa! Why aren't all businesses closed on election day, as they are in other countries? For the wealthy Capitalists it's just business as usual, and if the poor people are too busy working they can't vote!

I'm with you on that one! Only here we got PR, so we number a lot of boxes in preferential order :)! No party ever complained about irregularities in this system either! And, it only takes about 5 minutes! Paper trail leaves some form of accountability too, should the GOP ever enter Irish politics!

This is the greatest political comment I've seen on digg. The amount of political intiative inspired in this nation this year has been ridiculously overwhelming. Just on the way into work this morning, I passed by a polling location (a church, maybe?), and at 7AM, there were people overflowing the parking lots, parking out into the streets just to have a chance. It's absolutely amazing.Get out and vote!

The article is ABOUT early voting. The lines on election day could be even longer.

Ignorant. It's the locals responsibility to set up polling sites. Including machines, volunteers, buildings, etc...It's also the locals who approve budgets for these things. So if they don't want to spend the money or donate or volunteer, it's their own fault. This has nothing to do with Republicans.

Good thing I live in a state that's bluer than an Alaskan well digger's assh**e so I don't have to bother voting.Gotta love the electoral college: making citizen's votes worthless since 1776
