The VoIP provider is requesting a permanent stay on Judge Claude Hilton's decision in the Verizon patent suite, which decrees that Vonage can't sign up any new customers until it figures out a way to provide them service that doesn't infringe upon Verizon's patents.

This is just great. I just signed up for Vonage on Sunday. My adapter is being shipped via DHL. Lucky me for choosing the right company.

Whatever. Some guy in Minnesota, if I recall, had his house burn down because Vonage 911 put him on hold.But, what about phone over FIOS, or Cable?

mann i hate to see vonage going down. I got their service for few months, i had some minor trouble setting it up first but now that its working, I am really pleased with it. I love the voice mail coming to your email, directory of all the calls right on their site.. who else offer such service for such low price??? Hell with verizon, bunch of moron.

I have the unfortunate position of being both a Vonage customer and a Verizon customer. Vonage is my home carrier instead of Embarq and Verizon is my wireless carrier. If Verizon ends up killing Vonage, I absolutely will terminate my agreement with Verizon. I will do so early and with the blessing of my attorney, without paying them a single additional cent.
