Don't worry there's plenty of VoIP to choose from. Not to mention Vonage charges you more for VoIP than all the other major providers. I switched from Vonage to SunRocket and pay less than $20 /month whereas Vonage used to charge me $30 for the same exact service.

@shiftt...Show me another provider who can offer me what I have with Vonage, and I'll consider them. Right now I have a fax line, 3 phone lines w/3 toll free lines, all for about $110 monthly.

As a Vonage customer, I'm eager to see how this plays out. From what I understand, however, there is an issue of whether they can get a re-hearing on the case under the new law as the matter of "obviousness" wasn't raised as an objection in their appeal.Anyone else have insight?

Ahhh yes, Verizon can't keep its customers from defecting because their customer service is awful and they have not done anything innovative in years. Solution: Sue.Free market my arse. Whose market should be more of the question. And the answer appears to be anyone with LLB behind their name.

The best reason to like Vonage, Taxes, Universal service fees, Federal pork trimming. My phone service used to cost about 60 dollars a month, 20 for the line and 15 or so for long distance, the rest was taxes. When I had Vonage, I paid 24.95 and a couple of bucks for fed tax, though not sure, I think part of the tax was the one that SCOTUS made the FCC stop collecting. So less cash to the Feds, always a good thing.

DoctaStooge, I hope you realize that the lawsuit is not about VoIP but about storing customer data. I have no idea how SunRocket manages their data, but Skype shouldn't have any problems staying online.

If forcing them out of bussines is the only way to get rid of that freaking 'woo-hoo' tune, I'm all for it.
