gigaom.com— What is going to happen to 200,000 odd customers who signed up with SunRocket, a VoIP service provider that shut down today.

I'm a little leery of signing up for a year now at $199 since this bit me in the ass with SunRocket. Maybe a cheap month-to-month plan is the better route. ViaTalk seems a little expensive on monthly plans.
I'm in NYC, I can still get service. However, I tried calling all the SunRocket phone numbers and got the same ' not accepting calls at this time' messages' or 'lines are temporarily busy'. I emailed them to find out whats going to happen to my contract, but got the standard service ticket reply. So then I called AMEX, to see if I can just cancel the prepayment or at least get a refund for balance of my service. Unfortunately, I was told by the rep. that they can't do anything because I've had the contract beyond 60days.I'm stumped What is my recourse here? Or am I screwed?
I've had ViaTalk for about a year and it works pretty good. They accept a native SIP connection so you can bring your own device or use something like Asterisk. I feel bad for the people who paid all up front. One thing to be careful though is that if SunRocket's business model didn't work then others with the same business model, pricing and costs will most likely fail as well.
Everybody is switching now...but I hope not to Teleblend or Packet8. Last thing I would do is jumped to a company that was suggested by a company that left us in thin air. I'm happy with my Onesuite.com SuiteAdvantage now and just waiting for my number to be ported.
If you are a SunRocket victim, I would suggest you to try Lingo’s calling plans. They are now offering exciting business calling solutions for making phone call anywhere in the world. They include Business Value Plan $39.95/mo, Business Plus Plan $49.95/mo and unlimited Business Premium Plan $79.95/mo. Try Fonelogic, they are great! And their customer service is so good. Anytime you want to talk to someone, there is barely any wait time. check em out www.fonelogic.com 800-560-7535. Good luck! P.S. Vonage sucks! Horrible service!
Sign up with Fonelogic, they are waiving any activation fee and shipping for SunRocket customers and there is no contract. They are a great company. www.fonelogic.com or 800-560-7535.
