istartedsomething.com — MSNBC says Vista's speech recognition is a wreck, but they didn't tell you they nitpicked the original footage to only show what went wrong. I got my hands on the July CTP build (5427) of Windows Vista and gave it a try, what I found proved otherwise.

Please digg this guy's comment so everyone else can see the IQ of the average apple fanboy. Thanks!

This comment is coming from an Apple fan,The Vista speech recognition is just simply amazing. Over the phone I was able to write out a sentance onto my friends computer(and I don't have a very good voice), which in my opinion, is pretty amazing. While Macs have had speech recognition for many years, It was just for doing simple tasks(check email, launch web browser, switch application, quit application, and tell me a joke were a few of them), but even in 10.4 there isn't the ability to write out a whole paper by talking without 3rd party software(as far as I know).

"Since I dumped my home-built tower PC (noisy!) and my dual G4 PowerMac (noisy x 2!!!) and got an Intel iMac, I've forgotten what PC fan noise was. I definitely don't miss it..."Let me know if you want me to build you a 100% silent, fanless PC.

No. But build 5472 is on bittorrent. But another TAP build was just released, another beta is just around the corner, and then RC1 is really close..

Anyone saying that they don't have an accent is incorrect. Everyone has an accent, you just can't hear your own, or those with a similar accent because it sounds 'normal'

Not only that... the major problem was the same old problem with Microsoft. Microsoft's intention was "buy" media opinion favor to Microsoft... (this is a good answer to Microsoft intentions).
