blogs.zdnet.com — It's official: We are now in the under-promise and over-deliver era at Microsoft. Beta 1 of Vista Service Pack 1 is coming -- with shut-down, CPU performance and other fixes -- earlier than expected. And the final Vista SP1 is looking like November 2007.

Super! I can't wait for all my customizations to be set back to default. Thanks Microsoft!

"so your telling me that you honestly think that a computer thats HALF THE PRICE of the comparable osx machine should run just as well, no wait, better? logic ftw"Yeah, I do. There's not much difference under the hood anymore. You pay for the fancy design and the OS which, after seeing Vista, might just be worth it.

Are you... umm... nuckin futs? My ISP uses Linux on its routers and I have no problems obtaining a DHCP dynamic IP from it. Stop the FUD.

I think Mary Jo needs better sources. There is no way we'll see a Beta out before end of the year, but we get Live Updates on all the critical fixes, so my Vista Business is running fine. Why wait? The interface and new Office is slick!
