Yeah, it is a beta, yeah, it _is_ a release candidate, it's not the "golden release". . . but, I've used both, on a dual core 4 ghz machine with an x800"xt", to see what all the fuss is about since I'll probably encounter vista at work in the future, and if you think this operating system is efficient and fast, man, then you just don't know operating systems. I liken this expereience to using microsoft's "xp" on a 200 mhz PII.If microsoft doesn't have a lot of work to do, then they have a lot of waiting to do for businesses to buy newer hardware.& yeah the fanboys just don't know operating systems, but I will be burried, even though this is true, which will go to show they don't know their own operating system either.

I don't know why people keep saying that Vista copies from OSX; they look NOTHING like each other. And that you trashed Office 2007 only goes to show your lack of vision, which allows me to dismiss your whole post. LOLBTW, the Ribbon hasn't been cut from Office 2007, and it's not an "option". MS improved the ability to run it in minimized state (over what was in beta 2) is all.

"Vista was built mostly from scratch, ;)"No, it was not. It's the same NT+Win32 beast at the core. They "started over" with the Server 2003 code base, remember?

well 64bit version is a little more complicated because, yes, you do have to have signed drivers. Not because of DRM which is used for media copy protection, just because the 64 bit version has more security measures put into place. I would not mess with the x64 for Vista, they destroyed 64 bit( I tried it I was disappointed because I came from Windows xp x64)
