Zune has potential, it has the making of a fantastic device: built in FM Radio, slick interface, large screen, and Wifi capabilities. Microsoft, much like Leo pointed out, found a way to cripple a good device with poor marketing, an outrageous deal with Universal Music, severely limiting its wireless capabilities, and forcing the Zune on a watered-down version of WMP11 known as the Zune software. Don't get me wrong, I currently own a Zune and I love it, but MS, with the embarrassing marketing slogan and the deal with Universal, found a way to divert the attention away from the great music player that is the Zune.
knupso:Yes - it's another "Apple fanboy circle jerk"... and here YOU are right in the middle of it.(You know what happens to the guy in the middle of a circle jerk don't you knupso?)Here's a kleenex....
His *review* of the Zune is incredibly biased. He does bring up some good points, but he's basically just saying "OMFG It's not an iPod, that means it sucks". If Apple had released a new iPod with the *exact* same capabilities of the Zune (no more, no less)...He would probably love it.
I got brought a zune from ebay for $200, I need something that can play my mp3's and a few movies and this looked like something cool to try out. Keep in mind that I have a shuffle, nano and a 3G IPOD just wanted something new.....I really dont care if M$ fails with this product, It'll still play "MY" mp3s....
I have a Zune. I like it. Its true, its not perfect, it just came out. It really is a matter of opinion on what you buy. I bought the Zune because of the screen, simple navigation (... I'm not head over heels for the iPOD click wheel), it doesn't get scratched, custom wallpaper, and.. yes.It does have some things about it that I don't like, but I went for the "I'll know which one I want when I hold them". I held them.. each for a while. Zune, Zen & iPOD. And the Zen won.We all know what the cons are about the Zune. But I'm only going to mention my cons. Limited file type support. Sketchy battery & Zune Software. And that's about it. I don't care about the wifi or other things. So there. But I will say, that I LOVED and extremely enjoyed watching Leo bash the Zune. It was really hilarious the way he put everything. I was laughing the whole time, fun. But then again, sometimes I laugh at almost anything. But I was in a seirous mood, so it was true laughter. Kudos Leo, Kudos.
"but i have read that the zune software allows users to right click a song, and copy to the computer"Well you've read things that are not true, the Zune software doesn't allow such thing, and you can't even do the iPod hack you're describing, since the Zune is an MTP only device and the songs are stored inside a secured media vault.

That slogan makes me feel embarrassed for them. Really bad idea.
