If they had stopped to try and identify the attackers (which would be hard by itself since most probably weren't carrying firearms), the HMMWV would have most likely been destroyed. They obviously tried to *trap* them by taking out the truck in front and back first, it's common sense to get the hell out of there if you canAs far as the driver getting fired after being shot......Why was he still wanting to be employed by them? He's not telling *his* ugly side of the story.

The oil installations were the first things to be secured when the war started, whilst hospitals for example were left to be looted. That should give you a fair idea of the objectives of this war.The fact that oil production has dropped since the war started is simply that the insurgents are winning, and disrupting oil production is one of their objectives.By the way, empires have always fought wars to gain control of strategic resources. To think that the nature of empire has recently changed is naive beyond belief.

The word sucker, in the way that I am using it, is relative. To them, I am the sucker, to me, they are the suckers. Obviously, we are both suckers for being placed in that situation. However, I truly believe anyone should have the right to defend themselves when their life is being threatened, no matter what the circumstance.

well i don't know how many of you have even though about what we do over here but obviously you haven't and don't have a clue. We haul every thing the military needs to survive like there food and water and guns and bullets and we do it with our heads held high not just for the money. Some of us do it for the honor that we get and the feeling in our stomachs and hearts. The driver this one saw get shot was a very good guy and one of my drivers when he first got here in country. As a matter of fact I gave him his handle he had when he was over here. It was NO SHOW he was late for his first 3 meetings and we had to go and get him. We are not allowed to cary weapons of any kind because we are non combatents not MERCINARIES as some one has suggested. I greive every day for the friends i have lost over here both civlian and military. If you think its the money you have another thing comeing for sure all the money in the world is not worth what you go thru. It like a drug is the best i can explain it. I have been here for 3 years now and plan on staying as long as the military needs us. So you see its kind of like beeing loyal to your beliefes and actions. Whether you belive in the war or not is your buisness but if you don't support these 17 to 19 year old men and women that are over here dieing so you can have the freedom do the things you do then your not a true american. Now as far as getting fired for getting shot he didn't get fired for getting shot he got fired for not returning and he like every other person over here knows if you are out of theater for over 30 days no matter what the reason you are dismissed. now if he gets healed up and recovered he has the right to apply for another job and go thru the medical process and get cleared to come back. Thats his choice. I personaly have lost track of the number of convoys I've ran over here in the 2 years i drove over here. But you can ask any one that ran with the moonshine express we did our job and we hauled the freight. We wnt places we shouldn't have and did what we had to do to get the job done. I never lost any of my guys on a run but we had our times and we were close several times but they all new the drill drive thru the kill zone and stay with your truck if it was disabled and we would get some one to you as soon as we could and it sounds like thats exactly what happened in this case is by the book convoy proceedures. Sorry i can't feel sorry for the man in the video he is here to dry about it and my freind and comrad is not so as i griev for him again i thank you all for listening to the rambelings of an old man in the war zone.
