msnbc.msn.com — "Iraqi investigators have a videotape that shows Blackwater USA guards opened fire against civilians without provocation in an incident last week in which 11 people died." These Blackwater hired thugs should be banned from the US as well. They act the same way against US citizens, remember Katrina.

I wouldn't be surprised to find Blackwater just started shooting for some ambiguous, unjustified reason. But before I say that I want to see the video. They have a video? Now? Why didn't they have a video 2 weeks ago?

Supposedly a few months ago the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) was amended to apply to contractors in war zones as well. So apparently these guys can be subject to military courts martial(sp?).

Remember the final days of the Roman Empire. Odoacer was a mercenary general who commanded the loyalty of his Gothic army. He was hired by the Roman Empire for security purposes. When Rome bankrupted itself by over expanding, they failed to pay Odoacer and his army. Odoacer took his army and sacked Rome, installing himself as Emperor and gaining recognition from Eastern Rome and the Vatican. The last dynastic emperor of Rome, a young puppet, was exiled never to regain Rome. Most people consider that the end of the Roman Empire and the beginning of the Dark Ages.

it's war in an occupied country - doesn't that make every Iraqi a target? it's a bad situation, only made worse by violence. peace is the answer - iraq citizens just want left alone, and usa soldier's want to come home. why is peace such a bad idea?
