This is seriously f@%&ed up. If anyone other than a cop did this, they would be tried for assault with a deadly weapon, or some states call it aggravated battery. All courts consider cars deadly weapons when used like this. In most states that is a second degree felony that can put somebody (that isn't a cop) away for 15 years.

Cool, maybe the cops can be trained to hold court right inside their cars, render a verdict, and mete out the punishment right then and there. Ooh wait! Instead of hitting them, why not just shoot them dead? This would certainly get the message out to criminals that if you run from cops, you will be shot. Maybe, maybe the US should not even have jails, maybe you guys should just do away with them and kill your subjects on the spot, that would save tons of money. Oh, the constitution? "That's just a goddammed piece of paper!". I can see some of your frustration at criminals, I can understand. But you need to realize that in taking away their freedoms, you give up many of your own. Who draws the line? The government? Good choice! I can see Bush and Cheney worrying about your asses when it comes time, right, of course!
