I'm sorry, but statistaclly speaking, it is the state with the lowest median income, and lowest in education.Its not just picking and choosing. You should, statistically, be able to walk to down any street in WV and find just about the same responses.Something about being illiterate that makes it hard for them to control this here dang old intraweb.

Okay...I'm not going to make this short because most of you need to learn a lesson in cultural sensitivity. I am a West-Virginian. Have been all my life. I was raised somewhat poor and suffered from many of the stereotypes that have been thrust upon this very misunderstood state.First off, Jon Stewart is not a genius. He has writers. Did anyone happen to catch the shows when he had no writers? If I couldn't have found the remote I think I would have died from uneasiness; it was boring and awful. Secondly, it doesn't take a comic genius to come up with tried-and-true redneckisms. They're simple and fickle. And guess what? Every state in the f**king country has racists, idiots and impoverished people. Due to the hilly geography of WV, it makes it very hard to modernize/expand here and therefore it is mostly rural. Most people who live here don't care about what's going on in the outside world because they either enjoy the peace they get or because they know the rest of the country could give a s**t about them. Most of them are indifferent. It's sad, but I did have to put up with racism a lot. Still do. The only reason for it is that many of the smaller communities have a very small percentage of blacks. Whatever is new to them they automatically dislike. Most of it is lack of education and pride."WV is an embarrassment to most of the rest of the US. Those are genuine Bush 'mericans."(WV helped get Clinton into office. It was primarily a democratic state until the 2000 election.) Okay, this statement is absurd. Then maybe we should quit providing you with your electricity then. Do you realize that the majority of the coal mining that happens in WV contributes to the VAST majority of the electricity that most of you f**ks take for granted? The southern part of our beautiful state (yes, beautiful...I've been around and I can tell you that you haven't seen s**t until you've seen our valleys and forests) is being raped by something called mountaintop removal. It basically turns large mountain ranges into nothing but piles of dirt. Just to get the coal that you use to watch the Daily Show on. Coal miners die all the time day for your sorry asses.So yes...we are an easy target because we have a small population and we are geographically isolated from the world. But there are plenty of smart people in this state, plenty of people who care and try their best to make a difference. What you are all expressing is ignorance. Get it? Which happens to be akin with racism.I'm Jon Stewart doesn't honestly think this about WV. I'm sure he actually hasn't thought about it at all. His show just chose to go along with the same stereotypes and cliches that everyone has heard instead of including interviews with younger, ambitious types who know for a fact that Obama is not a terrorist. Try to tell the AVERAGE RURAL UNEDUCATED West Virginian that. But just remember that there are plenty smart West-Virginians who happen to like it here.
