Sadly McCain was one of the key architects of the Military Commissions Act and the rules governing torture. In both cases, McCain helped moved forwards that you would think someone who experienced what he'd experienced would oppose.

As a past vet rep against the VA I do know John did NOT support anything for veterans. I met him years ago and today, I wouldn't waste my spit on him. All my vets are more than willing to help each other any way possible. Viet Nam vets had to get their own PTSD groups started without government help and they have the best groups in the country. I try to send these kids from Iraq out to find these guys because I know they will be welcomed and helped. Although my vets are truly patriotic and would support the President if needed, they are older and wiser now and can help so many of our kids from the 2 lousy wars we have going. John doesn't give a damn about ANY veterans unless they can get him ahead. His scene on tv saying the veterans know he loves them and will take care of them made me puke as it was totally self serving and shallow.. I hope the veterans get together, get the press and let the entire US know how this man really feels about our veterans. Everyone of our veterans deserve all we can give them.
